Customizing JustWare Settings

Snap-ins can have two views: Grid View and Current Record View. Grid View displays all snap-in records, and Current Record View displays only the selected snap-in record.

Each JustWare user can easily customize the height of rows in Grid View; the width and order of columns in Grid View; the size of snap-ins; the default snap-in to appear in focus when a snap-in container, containing more than one snap-in, is selected; the default view for each snap-in, whether it is a Grid View or Current Record View; and the width of the session explorer.

To modify your settings, simply change your active JustWare session, and save or close the session. The changes you made will become the default settings for all JustWare sessions of that type.

For example, if you change the order of several columns in a JustWare case session and save or close the session, each case session you subsequently open will display the columns in your changed order. However, if you have access to more than one view for the current session, other views will not reflect your changes. Customized settings are view-specific.

Your personalized settings are used every time you log into JustWare, from any computer, because your personalized settings are saved on the JustWare database.

The height of a record row in a snap-in in Grid View can be changed by clicking and dragging on the bottom border of the gray box to the left of the record row. The mouse pointer will turn into a double-headed arrow when it is properly positioned to execute the resizing.
Note: Even though you are only changing the height of one row, all rows in that snap-in will resize similarly.
Columns can be moved to any location by clicking and dragging the column header to the desired location. Columns can be resized by moving your mouse pointer over the column header until it turns into a resize pointer ; click and drag to the desired size.
Snap-ins can be resized by moving your mouse pointer over any edge of the snap-in field until it turns into a resize pointer ; click and drag to the desired size.
Any snap-in that you have selected when you save settings will be the default snap-in selected when any session or view of that type is opened. For example, if you save or close a case session with the Charge Location snap-in selected, that snap-in will be selected when any other case session is opened.
There are a number of different default views that can be set using the Default View Settings, accessible from the Menu Toolbar at Tools | Settings | Default View Settings. The Default View Settings can be established for the following:
- new and existing case and name records
- view when opening a document hyperlink
- each case and name type
- case and name types to be used when new case or name records are added
- start page session view and docket session view

The border color of the active snap-in can be customized in Tools | Options | Change Active Snap-in Border Color. Select a color from the available options, and click OK to apply.
